SJWS holds O & A Level graduation ceremony
On April 21, 2018, Sir John Wilson School (SJWS) commemorated its 13th batch of O Level IGCSE graduates and 6th batch of A Level graduates. Matiur Rahman, Editor & Publisher of Prothom Alo was the chief guest of the ceremony.
The ceremony started off with the welcome speech by the Vice Principal of the Senior Section of the school, Dr. Farhana Khan Zaman, followed by a beautiful piano recital by a student of class seven.
School Director Nasreen Subhan congratulated the graduates on their hard work and dedication. The Chairman of the SSMT, Anisuz Zaman Chowdhury urged the students to be brave, communicate clearly, and to make themselves be known to the world.
The valedictorians of the classes of 2018 were Fardeem Munir and Safa Sharara Rahman for Class 12, and Fardin Hussain and Maiesha Mehreen Zahir for Class 10. The valedictorians made their emotional and heartfelt speeches that moved everyone.
The Principal of the school, Sabrina Shaheed addressed the students and reminded them to evaluate and think deeply before taking any step in their lives. The speech was followed by a classical solo dance performance by a senior student, followed by a visual presentation of photos of the graduates throughout their school lives, after which the guests and students cut the graduation cake.
The chief guest, Matiur Rahman, congratulated the graduates and urged them to keep their minds open and keep dreaming, so that in the process of bringing their own dreams to life, they may also bring others dreams to come true.
Certificates were then given out to the students, followed by the closing speech by the Academic Coordinator, Pikasha Imam.
