I tutored a pair of twins in Class 7 early in 2018. They went to the same school I used to go to, they did classes with many of the same teachers I had back in the day, their early morning struggle to wake up and get to school on time reminded me of sleepy 7 AMs that trounced me for eight long years. I hit it off with those kids and daresay managed to teach those kids a thing or two for the couple of months that I was their teacher. I even learned a valuable life lesson because I had to leave that tuition and I realised that it’s very easy to mess up the simple act of resigning a post.
Leaving the character building experiences aside, tutoring is an important earning source for students in climate where even university graduates often find it difficult to land jobs. It’s unregulated and ripe for exploitation, but hopefully this is a problem that’ll get solved like all of our problems get solved eventually.
