Extracurricular activities are synonymous to opportunities. Change my mind.
You can be the best student in a generation, but even then, you must find something that isn't part of academia. These activities will not only give you the much needed break from studies, but help build you as a person, not to mention the skill set on offer. If you're lucky, the activity--be it literally anything because all the world's a stage--will become your passion. And then the opportunities show themselves for you to shine. Who knows, maybe it could become your livelihood later on in life.
The key, however, is to seek what it is that excites you. Do what you love, and love what you do.
