FLAUNT, DON’T FONT
I have a weird feeling about fonts.
Okay, I say it’s a “weird” feeling because I am not fully aware of how exactly I feel about them. Some I like, some I don’t. Many I like just because they have a cool name. Like Nexa Bold, and Olivier. There are a few that seem only nice in the font drop-down box; they’re not as nice when used.
What’s the thing about a font anyway? Which is more important – style or function? Why do we even have preferences in the first place, if all that we’re reading are words? I doubt the word “word” will sound scary if typed in Chiller and like a robot if typed in, well, Roboto.
Oh, and the age-old debate about serif and sans serif. Don’t even get me started on why the tiniest of strokes at the end of a Times New Roman letter matters so much. I will not entertain this fight. Each has its merits and demerits. Why can’t we coexist? And what does Times Old Roman look like?
In any case, Comic Sans MS sucks. Yeah, that’s all I had to say, really.
