The internet is an eccentric place. It can applaud a particular individual one sunny morning and rebuke another on the next, and both scenarios can get pretty obsessive to a certain extent. These days, it has decided to get a new boyfriend and the netizens are not only in agreement, but they have jumped on the bandwagon with full gusto.

This breathtaking (if you know what I mean, and if not, you’ll find out in a bit) Chinese-English-Portuguese-Hawaiian man who only looks better with age is all set to appear in Cyberpunk 2077, the announcement of which made fans drool over him even more. During E3 2019, when the John Wick star described the game as “breathtaking”, a quick-to-act fan shouted “You’re breathtaking” from the audience which of course triggered our hero to respond with an even louder “You’re breathtaking! You’re all breathtaking!” back at the crowd.

Some people are also confused regarding this sudden resurgence of his fame but they do not even need to do much digging in order to understand why. Everyone else has pretty much concluded that Keanu Reeves is too good for this world and declared 2019 as his year. This person with his innumerable acts of kindness towards his coworkers or just the general public has gone through his own share of tragedy. With his father abandoning him as a child, to him dropping out of high school, his first child being a still-born to losing his then girlfriend to a road accident, Keanu had all the reasons to get disillusioned about life. Instead, this man emits the kind of wholesomeness that is usually found in cute puppy compilation videos.

He is incredibly rich, he is charmingly humble, he credits gravity for his down-to-earth comportment in an interview—like how beautiful is that? He does not even have to star in an action-packed thriller to be heroic. Upon multiple occasions, he has gone out of his way to help people in distress. When a Los Angeles bound plane had to make an emergency landing a few months back, Reeves, who was aboard the flight, ensured that the passengers reached their destination quickly and, in the meantime, kept them entertained. Numerous similar incidents coupled with his tendency to commute with commoners, riding motorcycles, getting his own groceries and countless philanthropic acts have earned him the image of almost criminally kind.

Keanu Reeves is probably who they refer to when claiming “not all men are like this” according to various posts over the internet due to the latest buzz that he only air hugs his female co-workers and fans while posing for a picture. The actor is very meme-able, with the internet always being on the lookout for an excuse to make memes out of him. In 2010, his photo of having a sandwich with a dejected facial expression went viral which prompted June 15 to be declared as an unofficial holiday by a fan page as “Cheer-up Keanu Day”. That was almost a decade ago. Its 2019 now, and it appears that the internet has found its long lost love again. Ironically, he had no idea about this online obsession that are being projected towards him. Upon finding such was the case, he responded saying that it was “wacky”.

With such incessant love being showered upon him by millions of people globally, he had the perfect answer to late night host Stephen Colbert when asked about his thoughts on what follows after death. He replied saying, “I know that the ones who love us will miss us.” I personally feel he won at life that day. So, the next time you feel disoriented, demotivated or simply let down by life, think “What would Keanu do?” and deal with life accordingly. I cannot promise an entire fandom dedicated to you, but rest assured, you will lead a very fulfilling life and might just be the entire internet’s next love interest.
