North South University (NSU) is celebrating its 24th anniversary.
To memorialise its achievements in the private university sector, the NSU has scheduled a nine-day long programme which started on March 3, says a press release.
A design competition was held on ‘Architectural Design Charrette’ organised by the Department of Architecture where students from EWU, Brac, BUP, AUST, State University, AIUB, University of Asia Pacific, SUST etc participated.
Md Shajahan, Former Chairman and Member, Board of Trustees was the Chief Guest where Prof Atiqul Islam, Vice Chancellor chaired the session and Prof Gour Gobinda Goswami, Treasurer, Dr Saiful Islam, Chair, Architecture addressed the audience.
A seminar on ‘Governance Challenge in South Asia’ was arranged by the Dept of Public Policy and Governance, where Dr Iftekharuzzaman, Executive Director, TIB, was keynote Speaker. MA Kashem, Chairman, BOT was the Chief Guest and Prof. Atiqul Islam, Vice Chancellor chaired the session. Prof Gour Gobinda Goswami, Treasurer, Salahuddin M. Aminuzzaman, Adviser of the MPPG Programme, Dr S Tawfique M Haque, Director of MPPG Programme, NSU along with other Administrative Heads were present at that time.
A public lecture on ‘Economics of Social Business’ by Prof Wahiuddin Mahmud, Dept of Economics, DU was held campus organised by Economics Department of where Azim Uddin Ahmed, Member, Board of Trustees attended the event as the Chief Guest.
NSU organised a seminar on ‘Impact of Bangabandhu’s 7th March Speech on Independence Movement of Bangladesh’ on March 6 at 6:00 pm, where A K M Mozammel Huq, minister for Liberation War Affairs graced the event as the chief guest.
He shared some historic events of our liberation war. He said ‘It was Bangabandhu's epoch-making speech of March 7 that inspired and motivated the liberation forces who fought the war in his name. Prof Atiqul Islam, vice chancellor, chaired the session where M A Kashem, chairman, BOT was special guest.
The other Board Members, Deans, and Chairs were present along with other faculty members and students were present at that time.
In the evening, a cultural show was held by the students of NSU Shangskritik Sangothon.
