Can we not anymore?

From the producers of a long running and beloved "drama" show, comes a new show about a girl who built a whole empire from blood, sweat, and her mom's money (although the blood and sweat were definitely not hers). The 20-year old reality star, Kylie Jenner, now stars in her own show called "Life of Kylie". The first season, which consists of 8 episodes, aired on August 6 of this year. For the sake of everyone's well being, let us all pray that there isn't more to come. 

I'm sure you all probably think that Kylie has it all. The cars, the houses, the lipstick empire. I mean, she's King Kylie after all. But wait - major plot twist. She feels lost and is still trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life. I mean, I would love to feel lost and go house and car shopping to make myself feel better (which Kylie actually does in one of the episodes when she is upset about a recent boyfriend situation) but apparently this plot twist is supposed to make her seem more relatable to us. 

As I progressed through the episodes, I realised the ultimate point of the whole show was to get rid of the previous image of Kylie as a ditsy teenager and make her seem as a fun and caring person. And she really does try very hard to seem as a fun person. It almost reaches a point of becoming a bit sad. Apart from her, the other characters include her best friend, Jordan; her executive assistant, Victoria; her makeup artist, Ariel; and her hair stylist, Tokyo. Yes, I realise the other cast members are quite sad as well. Kris and Kendall Jenner also make guest appearances. 

Her best friend, Jordan, has her own story going as well. She's recently lost her father and is trying to find her way in the world. But, she frequently gets too caught up with Kylie and loses focus from herself. So, this story is basically Jordan trying to balance her own life and her life with Kylie. Fingers crossed please, no spin-offs. 

Whatever new image of Kylie this show was trying to portray, it missed the mark by a huge margin. My advice to the producers: get new writers.
