Amit Hasan Goes Mute
Amit Hasan plays the character of a vocally disabled person in Angar, where he has used sign language to portray his dialogues. This is a first for this actor who said, "Although the character I am playing gets little coverage in the film, I still chose to play the role as it is different from any other work I had done before. It was very difficult to accomplish, but the uniqueness of the role led me to take the challenge."
He said that there are mute members among his younger sister's in laws, and after he had received the offer of playing the role, he frequently went to them and trained his sign language skills with them to bring out the authenticity of his character called Pappu Mondol.
Angar, directed by Wajed Ali Sumon, was released yesterday and is a cross-border production by Jaaz Multimedia from Dhaka and SK Movies of India.
