Polls festive, good turnout in the morning: EC Habib Khan

Election Commissioner Brig Gen (retd) Ahsan Habib Khan today said elections to the Barishal and Khulna city corporations were progressing amid a festive atmosphere and there was good turnout of voters in the morning.

EC's steps have assured and inspired voters to come to the polling centres, he said while briefing reporters at his EC office.

The Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal and all commissioners are monitoring the elections through CCTV camera from the EC office in the capital.

The commission's observer teams are reporting that elections are being held in a free and fair manner. Voters are coming to the polling stations without any obstacle, Habib said.

No candidates have raised any allegations, he added.
