Boat will win: Ivy
Articulating hope for a certain victory in Narayanganj City Corporation election, Awami League nominated mayoral candidate Selina Hayat Ivy today said "boat" will win for sure.
"I will win if the election is held in a neutral manner," she told journalists after casting her vote at Shishubagh School centre in West Deobhog area, Narayanganj around 10:50am
"The election atmosphere is okay so far. Don't know what will happen later. Everyone must be allowed to cast vote," she said.
Seeking cooperation from law enforcement agencies, Ivy said, "I'm not talking about me only. I'm speaking for everyone. If you (law enforcers) cooperate, I will accept whatever the outcome is. But I know, people of Narayanganj have chosen me."
Earlier in the day, Ivy offered prayers at the central graveyard in Masdair for the salvation of the departed souls of her parents and freedom fighters.
Voting began at 8am today in 192 centres across three Narayanganj City Corporation regions (city, port, and Siddhirganj), and will continue until 4pm. This time, voters will use electronic voting machines (EVM) to cast their votes.
