Abul Hasan wants to prove himself
Abul Hasan made a return to Bangladesh national team setup after he was picked for the tri-nation series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka and he suggested that he wants to prove himself.
In 2012, Abul struck a ton against the West Indies in his debut match after coming down at number 10 in the batting order.
In last year's BPL, the all-rounder picked up 10 wickets while playing for Sylhet Sixers. His BPL stint provided him with an opportunity to work with one of the greatest fast bowlers the game has ever seen.
Waqar Younis, who was the bowling coach of the Sylhet outfit, worked with the all-rounder from Bangladesh and Abul suggested that it was a big step in his career.
"BPL was a challenge but I was confident that I could hone and develop my skills by working with Waqar bhai. I have especially worked on reverse swing with him and also slower balls."
"I am confident and the big thing is that I am getting an opportunity to prove myself," Abul added.
He last featured in an ODI game for Bangladesh when the Tigers faced Pakistan in 2015. Abul Hasan did not manage to pick up a single wicket in his six ODI appearances for the Tigers but he suggested that quite a lot has changed. He cited that he worked on his bowling during the off-season and specifically worked on his line and length.
"I was out with an injury for three years and injuries are the main reason for irregular opportunities. Thanks to the Almighty I was able to overcome everything so now lets see what happens. This is the time to prove myself," the cricketer concluded.
