Anamul strikes maiden double century
Anamul Haque struck his 13th first class hundred yesterday but this time he ensured that he would go on to reach a double hundred, a feat that had eluded him in previous attempts.
Anamul continued his innings of 172 not out from yesterday and hit his maiden double-century at the Shekh Abu Naser Stadium, Khulna.
He reached his double hundred in 330 balls. Anamul was eventually dismissed for 216 by Nasir Hossain, who got him out leg-before.
In 2012, Anamul Anamul Haque missed a maiden double hundred against Dhaka Metro when he was dismissed for 193.
Anamul hit 18 four's and two sixes on his way to 216. The Tier-1 match between Khulna division and Rangpur ended in a draw. The match was called off at 2.40 pm due to wet outfield. Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza bagged three wickets before the game was called off.
