‘Warner is a lot of fun’
When David Warner arrived for his first press conference ahead of the start of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) -- an event to to officially hand him the captaincy role, the Sylhet Sixers captain was in a cheeky mode as he talked about Waqar Younis’s tardiness, the Dhaka traffic and the 'one' good Bangla word that he knew.
Australians are known for their professionalism and Warner's former Australia teammate Steve Smith’s involvement and drive has already been a talking point for players and coach of Comilla Victorians. Warner is proving to be not just vocal as a captain, but also a fun one as was affirmed by Sylhet’s young gun Afif Hossain, who spoke to the media today.
“He is very involved with the team when we are at practice or at the hotel. He is a lot of fun. He keeps everyone together which helps the team,” Afif said about his captain.
The youngster is also learning a great deal from the former Australia vice-captain. “Since he is a opener, there is a lot to learn from him. You can learn a lot from him about how to use the Powerplay and build the innings at the top-order,” Afif commented.
Despite Warner and his team not having the best start to the BPL, Warner’s jolly approach could gel the team which failed to perform up to expectations last year.
