Tigresses are on a roll after their recent successes have garnered the attention of not only fans in Bangladesh but the cricketing fraternity as well. Now they will prepare to embark on a new mission, this time to play in a World Cup.

Amidst the disappointing performances from the men's team, the Bangladesh women's cricket team continued to shine bright as Salma Khatun and Co. clinched the ICC Women's World T20 Qualifiers title beating Ireland by 25 runs in the final at the Kampong Cricket Club ground in Netherlands.

In the final, Panna Ghosh led the Tigresses' defence of 123 runs, picking up her maiden five-wicket haul in the shortest format of the game to bundle out Ireland for 97 runs in 18.4 overs.

Fast bowler Jahanara Alam reiterated that the target was to restrict Ireland 'below 100'.

Star of the show Panna Ghosh said: "This is my first five-wicket haul. We are so happy and if everyone performs than we could become champions and we did."

"We are really excited to play West Indies."

Jahanara too echoed Panna's sentiments, saying: "We are really excited to play a World Cup in November in West Indies.

She reiterated that the Tigresses will look to perform even better now since it's a World Cup. That feat would really be a challenge in itself since they won two out of their last two tournaments, having also bagged the Asia Cup title in June this year.

"Definitely we will like to put on a better show over there. Our target will be to reach the semifinal because we had a good achivement during Asia Cup."

The Tigresses are on the rise and they are have been able to set an example of excellence in women's cricket. Will they fire once again when they play the W20 World Cup and make it three out of three following Asia Cup success?
