Mustafizur Rahman finds the edge of De Silva's bat and ball flies through the slip cordon for four. Fizz ends up conceeding three boundaries off the 30th over.

28.4 -- Now it is Mendis's turn to bring up his half-century with a boundary, but it is poor cricket from Bangladesh as it should only have been a single. Mendis tapped a Taijul Islam delivery to the off side and crossed over for a single, but there was no one to back up the throw and it is fouyr overthrows. Mendis has been more sedate than De Silva in bringing up his fourth Test fifty off 91 deliveries.

26.2 -- De Silva slashes a cut off Sanzamul to the cover boundary to reach his third Test fifty off just his 65th delivery. He smashes another boundary to the other side of the ground off the next ball for good measure.

Bangladesh's spinners Taijul Islam and Sunzamul Islam have pulled things back a bit as just 12 runs have come from the last five overs. However, the pitch is looking as good as it did on the first day and the two Sri Lankan batsmen seem untroubled. The only chance they offered was a run-out opportunity in the 22nd over when Kusal Mendis was sent back from halfway down the wicket. It was close enough to call for the third umpire, but Mendis was comfortably in.

Dhanajaya de Silva seems to have taken the bull by the horns after the early wicket of Dimuth Karunaratne, having reached 41 off 49 balls. But since tea, it has been Kusal Mendis who has taken the charge to the Tigers, scoring 21 of the 25 runs added in the last five overs. He is now batting on 34 off 62 balls and the first-wicket partnership is now worth 75.

Bangladesh could only add 139 runs to their overnight total of 374/4 as Mustafizur Rahman is the last wicket to fall. Captain Mahmudullah Riyad remains unbeaten on 83 as Tigers fold for 513 on Day 2 of the first Test against Sri Lanka.

It is 11:30 pm and lunch on Day 2 of the first Test match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka have done really well in this first session, picking up three wickets but Tigers have pulled things back with an eight-wicket partnership featuring Mahmudullah Riyad and Sunzamul Islam.
