Sri Lanka clinch series with 215-run win

Sri Lanka clinch the Test series with a 215-run victory, having bowled out the Tigers for 123 runs in just 29.3 overs on Day three of the second Test at Dhaka.

Chasing down a target of 339 was always a difficult task in the fourth innings and most of Tigers' wicket fell in similar fashion as they failed to counter the spin or the bounce and the Lankan spinner ruled the roost.

Mominul Haque fell to Rangana Herath in the 17th as he looked to play for the turn. Wily Herath removed the man in form with a clever delivery that did not turn after pitching and took the slightest edge thorough to the wicket-keeper.

Liton then fell to Akila Dananjaya as the ball took off from a length and caught the bat handle as man at short-leg latched onto a catch.

The last six Tigers wicket fell within the space of 27 balls where they added 23 to their total.

Mahmudullah gave his wicket away by stepping out to a Dananjaya delivery premeditatedly before he realized that he was playing down the wrong. He looked to step back again to the delivery that completely beat him in flight as well and ended up edging it to Karunaratne at slip.

Mushfiqur Rahim became Herath's 413th Test victim as he was drawn forward. Dannajaya, who finished with a five-wicket haul removed Sabbir Rahman and Abdur Razzak in the 27th over as Tigers innings eventually folded for 123. 

Tigers go to lunch two down for 57

Bangladesh lost openers Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes and went to lunch at Day 3 with 57 runs on the board for the loss of two wickets in their chase of 339. Tamim fell leg-before to Dilruwan Perera in just the second over of the Tigers innings. Kayes then fell to Rangana Herath in the 11th over with three overs to go before lunch. Mominul Haque is unbeaten on a brisk 31 off 44 deliveries while Mushfiqur is not out on 2, having survived a review by the Lankans on the last over before lunch.

Sri Lanka set Tigers 339 for victory

Roshen Silva remained unbeaten on 70 on Day 3 as Tigers bowled Sri Lanka out for 226. The Lankans have set Sri Lanka a target of 339 for victory in a pitch which produced 30 wickets so far.

Tigers needed just over 10 overs to finish off the Lankan innings after Sri Lanka added a further 26 runs to their overnight score before Taijul Islam scalped Suranga Lakmal and Rangana Herath off back to back deliveries.

Lakmal tried a big heave towards the on side as ball went past his bat to disturb the stumps in the 74th over. Net delivery, Herath fell out leg-before the next delivery.
