Sri Lanka on top as Tigers lose Mushfiqur at close
Sri Lanka are in a strong position at close of play on Day 4 of the first Test as Tigers face a mini-batting collapse, losing three wickets in the space of 13 overs.
Mushfiqur Rahman was the final wicket to fall at close of play as he pushed at a Rangana Herath delivery in the 27th over. Mushfiqur's fall was rather unfortunate as his forward defensive shot landed on his own boot before silly point took the catch and asked the question to the umpire. After reviewing the situation the third umpire gave out. Tigers face an uphill task tomorrow to not only overcome the 200-run deficit but also presereve wickets so as to save the Test match. Sri Lanka meanwhile are firmly on top having picked up three of Tigers' top order batsman.

Tamim follows Imrul as Tigers lose both openers
Tamim Iqbal pushes at a delivery outside the off-stump and edges it through to the wicket-keeper as Bangladesh lose both openers. Tigers continue showcasing their woeful shot selection in Test match cricket. Trying to dictate terms they have thrown their wickets away once again to lose shots.
The left-hander played away from his body on the 22nd over to a delivery that he had no reason to play with only five overs left in the day.

Tigers lose Imrul as shot selection woes continue
Imrul Kayes (out for 19) falls off the last delivery of the 15th over following a regrettable decision to play a sweep shot against Dilruwan Pereara.
Bangladesh had started their second innings brightly to reduce the deficit to 150 with the opening partnership between Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes reaching 50.
The duo may not have looked solid but Tamim Iqbal had started his second innings the same way he batted in the first innings, looking to dominate proceedings. At a crucial period of the game, where Tigers should have been looking to preserve wickets, the familiar shot-selection problems which was prevalent during the recent tri-series matches against Sri Lanka, came back to haunt them.

Bangladesh openers Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes are out there in the middle as Tigers start their second innings with a 200-run deficit.

Sunzamul gets maiden Test wicket, SL 687/7
Sunzamul Islam traps Dilruwan Perera right in front of the middle stump to get his maiden Test wicket.

Mehedi strikes again as SL stretch lead to 150
Mehedi Hasan Miraz removes Niroshan Dickwella after Sri Lanka had stretched their lead to 150.
Dickwella, who had brought on his fifty off just 47, looked to reverse-sweep Mehedi in the 180th over off a delivery that was way outside his leg-stump. The left-hander ended up getting the faintest of nicks and Liton Das took the catch down the leg-side. Dickwella fell after a 61-ball 62.
Rangana Herath was the new batsman at the crease and he survived a leg-before shout – one that looked considerably close, but with no reviews left, Tigers did not manage to challenge the decision.

Tigers get Chandimal right after lunch
Taijul Islam gets the scalp of Dinesh Chandimal, who falls in the first over after lunch on Day 4.
Chandimal, batting on 87 had looked comfortable for most part of his innings but playing down the wrong line to Taijul led to his dismissal in the 169th over. Niroshan Dickwella at the other end had looked to push the run-rate up although he escaped with a bit of luck in the morning session when he edged Taijul to the slip-cordon in the 167th over. Mehedi Hasan at first slip was positioned too wide on that instance and ball ran away for four.
Sri Lanka have stretched their lead to 100 and will be looking to pile on the misery for the Tigers' bowlers, who have bowled for more than six sessions in this Lankan first innings.

Tigers look to curb SL lead following Roshen's scalp
Mehedi Hasan picks up the wicket of Roshen Silva following his maiden ton in Test cricket.
Roshen and Chandimal's fourth-wicket stand of 135 was broken when Roshen looked to play off-spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraz through the off-side. In the 156th over, Roshen rocked back to drive Mehedi through the covers but the delivery did not bounce as expected and he only managed an under-edge through to wicket-keeper Liton Das, who took the catch.
Roshen left after scoring 109 while Dinesh Chandimal remained unbeaten on 61, the skipper looking in control as Sri Lanka look to stretch their lead on Day 4. Tigers will be hoping to make one or two more breakthroughs in order to contain Sri Lanka's lead on a pitch that has shown signs of extra spin and low bounce on the fourth day.
Wicket: Roshen Silva c Liton Das b Mehedi Hasan Miraz 109 (230b 6x4 1x6) SR: 47.39 FOW 550/4
