Tigers' strength and conditioning coach Mario Villavarayan said that there has been a huge change in attitude from the players regarding fitness.

The Bangladesh team are undertaking a training camp which started today at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. The cricketers will continue a week-long fitness and conditioning programme under trainer Mario Villavarayan before the focus shifts to skills training.

Speaking on the change in attitude, Mario explains: "Huge change in attitude towards fitness. When I hear, even when I was in Colombo and I heard that Tamim was training on his own and also some of the other boys. That gave me a lot of pleasure. So that's why I said that there was a huge improvement in attitude.

"That's what I wanted when I came here at the start for the boys to take responsibility and start doing things on their own.

"I had to do the hard work at the start, teaching them why you do it. The results are showing now and even after I go, I want them to continue".

Mario also informed that the players who returned from injury have undergone light running with Tamim Iqbal undergoing an individual programme as he looks to get back into shape after a knee injury.

Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad and Taskin Ahmed, who were previously all recovering from injuries, took part in the session today, Mario informed. He said that the purpose of the session today was to mainly find out where the cricketers stood in terms of fitness since they had a break from cricket.

Tigers have a day-off from training tomorrow and they will continue their fitness programme again on Tuesday with eye on the Afghanistan series.

The Tigers are expected to reach Dehradun on May 29 before the first T20I on June 3 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. The second and third games will take place on June 5 and 7 at the same venue.
