It was a historic moment for Bangladesh when Hasibul Hossain Shanto and Khaled Masud ran hard for the winning runs a in the final against Kenya in 1997 and the now Bangladesh ODI skipper felt that the Tigresses' victory against six-time Asia Cup champions India will have a similar impact upon cricket in Bangladesh.

"A lot of people like me started running following Shanto bhai and Pilot's bhai's sprint in 1997. After watching Salma and Jahanara's sprint in 2018, a lot more from Bangladesh will be waiting to make their run. And this run, when it begins, won't stop. Inshallah."
