Mushy strikes resilient ton for North Zone
Mushfiqur Rahim struck a magnificent ton under pressure North Zone reached end of play on day 3 of the Bangladesh Cricket League match against Central Zone on 286 for the loss of seven wickets at Bogra today.
Wickets tumbled around Mushfiqur Rahim but the experienced campaigner held his own to remain unbeaten on a 199-ball 101 with seven fours and a six. Mushfiqur starred in an 83-run partnership for the sixth wicket with Ariful Haque before he scored 47 off his 101 runs during an eighth-wicket 70-run partnership with Taijul Islam to see off day 3 for North Zone.
East Zone were bowled out for 300 after they continued from their overnight score of 95 for three. East Zone were in a bit of a bother, losing Yasir Ali, Liton Das and Alok Kapali early on the third day with Liton only adding 15 more runs to his overnight score of 60. A 124-run seventh wicket partnership between Jaker Ali and all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin brought things under control for East Zone. Jaker struck a team-high 76 while Saifuddin remained unbeaten on 75.
South Zone reached 142 for the loss of three wickets at close of play to lead by 245 runs. Tushar Imran, who struck a ton in the first innings remained unbeaten on 46 while Soumya Sarkar was not out on 29 at close.
