I would pick that guy: Mash points at Kohli
During a press conference involving the captains of the World Cup in England, the captains were asked which players they will pick from another team if they had the chance. Most of the captains played the question diplomatically, suggesting that they are happy with the team. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, the Bangladesh captain was not so diplomatic.
Eoin Morgan was the first captain to be asked the question and there was a nervous cheer from the other captains suggesting that its not a question that the captain would like to answer. Morgan said he was happy with his team but said that he would like to have Ricky Ponting in some sort of decision-making post for the England team. Ponting has been appointed as an assistant coach for the upcoming World Cup. India captain Virat Kohli went with the same line as Morgan about being happy with the side he has got but when pressed on the matter, Kohli -- in a light mood during the conversation -- said he would pick Faf du Plessis, the South Africa captain in his side because they are good buddies.
When it was Mashrafe's turn, he pointed his finger to Kohli and said 'that guy, I will pick that guy'. The Bangladesh captain did not hold back his laughter while acknowledging his admiration for the Indian captain.
It was a light-hearted session arranged by the ICC for the captains and the event was shown live on their Facebook page.
Mashrafe was asked about the looming World Cup and he said: "Obviously, nothing new from my side. Everything is all about mental preparation. Tournament is very close and we have to get together as a team."
The Tigers left from Leicester and were scheduled to reach Cardiff at 1pm (England time) today. The team will play warm-up matches against Pakistan and India on May 26 and May 28 respectively at Cardiff.
