Shakib under ICC investigation, but no charges pressed yet: ESPNCricinfo

Bangladesh Test and T20I skipper Shakib Al Hasan is under investigation by the International Cricket Council's (ICC's) Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) for not reporting approaches by bookies, an ESPNCricinfo report said on Tuesday. The report also added that 'it is believed, though, that the ICC has so far not pressed any charges against Shakib'.
A Bengali daily carried news earlier on the day that Shakib would be suspended from all forms of cricket by the ICC for 18 months for the offence.
However, according to the ESPNCricinfo article charges are only pressed once the ACU has conducted the investigation, sent the report to the ICC's senior-most legal counsel who then decides whether or not to press charges. If charged, the player then will either admit his or her guilt or contest the charge. If he does accept, a sanction is agreed upon 'before the news is made public'.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have meanwhile said that they have received no formal communication from the ICC.
The Daily Star learned from a source close to developments that ICC officials have also talked to Shakib as part of their investigation. The ICC are likely to bring the matter to light in a few days.
The source further added that this kind of things happens to cricketers all the time. There were a few issues of phone call tracking during the investigation. The BCB are in no position to comment on the matter as any concrete announcement must come from the ICC first.
