Taskin feeling bad for Sabbir
Bangladesh paceman Taskin Ahmed bagged another four-wicket haul today while Sabbir Rahman struck the highest knock by a Bangladesh batsman in the BPL this season as Sylhet Sixers posted 194 on the board against Rangpur Riders today.
Sabbir blazed a 51-ball 85 with five fours and six sixes to help Sylhet post a really challenging total for Mashrafe Bin Mortaza's men to chase but Sylhet's haul was not big enough as Rangpur chased it down, although poor fielding display played a part in Sylhet's loss. Rilee Rossouw was dropped thrice and he went on to make 61. Rangpur' batsmen all contributed in helping them overcome the challenge even as Taskin had brought them back in to the match with crucial wickets.
The paceman was disappointed. "It's difficult to say something. I don't have the words to explain the loss after we scored 194. We did not have the luck as we lost due to small mistakes even as I got the wickets of four of their best batters," said Taskin.
Taskin was feeling especially bad for teammate Sabbir. The right-hander returned amongst the runs with a special innings -- one that will help his bid to return to the national team fold, but the innings did not help the team win.
"Personally, I am feeling really bad after losing the game. If we won the match, he [Sabbir] would have been the man-of-the-match. We should have won the match for him," he concluded.
