Report claims Shakib broke dressing room door
In a highly charged match, where emotions were running high, Tigers won against Sri Lanka in a do-or-die game on March 16 where Mahmudullah Riyad hit a six off the penultimate ball of the innings to hand victory to Tigers. But the game was marred by incidents involving the Bangladesh team as captain Shakib Al Hasan came down from the dressing room to call off the Tigers' batsmen and forfeit the game.
Later it was revealed that the glass door of the Tigers' dressing was broken and Sri Lankan newspaper The Island has claimed that it was Shakib who broke the dressing room door.
According to the report, Movenpick Hotel had done the catering for the teams during the match and one of the caterers informed match referee Chris Broad that it was Shakib who caused the damage.
Island described the incidents in the last over as 'disgraceful behaviour' by the Bangladeshi captain.
The report however mentioned that CCTV footages were inconclusive but suggested that despite there being an eyewitness, the match referee chose to be lenient on Shakib Al Hasan, who was slapped with a 25 percent of his match fee and incurred a demerit point.
