Soumya wants to go game by game
Soumya Sarkar suggested that he would like to go game by game in the tri-series T20 tournament.
Soumya Sarkar struck a brilliant 32-ball 51 in the first T20 during the home series against Sri Lanka and the left-hander suggested that he would like to carry that form to the Nidahas Trophy tri-series in Sri Lanka.
"Obviously, yes [would like to carry on form]. Since whenever I take the field obviously I try to do well and score runs. So, there is good and bad but there are four matches first up. So, for those four matches, I would like to go game by game.
Soumya reiterated that he would like to make a mark from the beginning of the tournament.
"So, in the first match I will try to give my best, to prove myself from the beginning and to promote myself."
He also suggested that in case skipper Shakib Al Hasan misses out on a few matches, others will have to pull their weight.
"I do not know Shakib bhai's condition. It is upto the doctors but if he is there then there will be a support for the team and there will be a spirit within the team – because as a senior player we will get three sides from him.
So, without thinking of that, if the rest of us can give our best then we can expect something good."
