Tamim’s 11k, Shakib’s 10k
Two of Bangladesh cricket's household names achieved personal landmarks during the match against Sri Lanka as Tamim Iqbal reached 11,000 runs and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan reached 10,000 runs in all three formats combined.
The two batsmen were involved in a 99-run second-wicket partnership as Bangladesh posted 320 runs on the board. Tamim, who struck a 102-ball 84, required 62 runs to reach the milestone of eleven thousand runs while Shakib needed 66. Shakib fell after scoring 67 off 63 balls.
Tamim has 19 hundreds and 93 fifties to his name in all three formats combined while Shakib has 12 hundreds and 71 fifties to his name.
Meanwhile Anamul Haque also achieved a landmark during the Sri Lanka match as he reached 1000 ODI runs. Anamul, who struck 35, needed 31 runs to reach 100 runs.
