Tamim helps Rumana out with a gift
Bangladesh women's team cricketers will leave for South Africa on Saturday and ahead of the tour, ODI captain Rumana Ahmed had a stone in her shoe.
The skipper lost both of her bats before a camp and was facing difficulty, unable to cope with the sudden loss. Quality cricket bats are not readily available in Bangladesh and a good bat costs quite a lot and that presents a problem for female cricketers who are not as financially able as their male counterparts.
She contacted Tamim Iqbal and sought help from Bangladesh opener, who gifted her with a bat at the BCB premises today.
"The thing was that the day before the camp started, two of my bats were damaged. Actually, they were stolen and I was facing difficulties," Rumana said
"I shared the problem with Tamim bhai and he gifted me one of his bats. I am delighted that our brothers are helping us.
I don't know what the bat will do but I want to showcase my talent," Rumana added.
The women's team are going on an international tour after a gap of one year and Rumana suggested that the tour will help the squad gain some experience.
"Winning and losing is part of the game but I believe the tour will be crucual for gaining experience," she concluded.
