Yeasin bags eight wickets to demolish Abahani
Nasir Hossain's Abahani Limited were blown away by 19-year old Yeasin Arafat's eight-wicket haul as Gazi Group overpowered the league-toppers by eight wickets at Fatullah today.
Yeasin made the early breakthrough after Abahani were sent in to bat first, picking up the Saif Hassan and Nazmul Hossain Shanto in the third over of the innings.
He then grabbed two more wicket, that of Nassir Hossain and Mossaddek Hossain in the fourth over as Abahani slumped to five down for 12 runs.
Mohammad Mithun and Manan Sharma rebuilt the innings after early slump with innings of 40 and 46 respectively. Tipu Sultan came back into the attack to break the partnership and Yeasin then returned to bag four more wickets as Abahani were all-out for 113 in just 26.1 overs.
Gazi reached the target in 29.5 overs as Jahurul Islam struck a 78-ball 52.
Shinepukur vs Prime Bank
Prime Bank grabbed their fifth win of the tournament after defeating Shinepukur at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.
Shinepukur were all out for 251 in the 50th over as Shadman scored 44 while Uday Kaul struck a 62-ball 52. In reply, Shinepukur reached their target in 46.4 overs with five wickets to spare. Nahidul Islam struck an unbeaten 78-ball 73 to help Prime Bank over the ropes.
Prime Doleshwar vs Agrani Bank
At BKSP's Savar, Prime Doleshwar defeated Agrani bank by three wickets with 22 balls to spare. Agrani slumped to five for 57 runs inside 14 overs before Shamsul Islam's gritty 64 not out and nine-down batsman Islamul Ahsan's 46 allowed them to reach 203 for the loss of seven wickets.
In reply, Doleshwar did not make the best of starts, losing three early wickets but Marshal Ayub, Farhad Hossain and Zohaib Khan struck 42, 49 and 41 respectively to hand Doleshwar their sixth win in the DPL.
