FIDE Master Sheikh Nasir Ahmed earned his second International Master norm at the 40th Open International Barbara Dell Villis Category A Chess tournament when he drew against Morocco's IM Tlshir Mohammad in the ninth and final round held in Barcelona on Wednesday.

Nasir finished in seventh place with 6.5 points from nine matches and now needs the third and final norm to become the country's fourth IM after Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagor, Abu Sufian Shakil and Zillur Rahman Chompak.

Nasir secured his first IM norm in 2008 and took nine years to earn the second.
