Tehran team of Iran became champions in the Asian Cities Chess Team Championship with one round to go at the FARS Hotel in Dhaka yesterday.

Tehran earned 16 points to confirm their title after beating Kathmandu in the eighth and penultimate round.

Gopalganj of Bangladesh and Kolkata of India were jointly in second position with 12 points each while BNSCB Chess Team of Dhaka were in third position with 10 points.
