In the highest scoring match of the day, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club amassed 290 for 5 after Cricket Coaching School captain Rajin Saleh won the toss and decided to bowl first at BKSP No. 3 ground.

Maiden tons in the ongoing DPL by Marshall Ayub and Sheikh Jamal skipper Mahmudullah propelled their side to the huge total. The 3rd wicket partnership of 203 runs in 39 overs took the game away from Cricket Coaching School.

Marshall’s 103 was made in 115 balls, and contained 12 fours. Mahmudullah was timing the ball really well and lifted his team with 130 runs. He faced 139 balls and smashed eight fours and five sixes in his imperious innings.

Cricket Coaching School bowlers were sent on a leather hunt by Sheikh Jamal, and Mehrab Hossain took three wickets but gave away 45 runs in five overs. Saleh Ahmed Shawon fared better and captured two scalps in this match.

Mohammedan skipper Mushfiqur Rahim would be rather pleased with his bowlers after they managed to restrict Kalabagan Cricket Academy to 231 all out at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium at Fatullah today.

Mushfiqur won the toss and opted to field first, and his decision paid dividends as Mohammedan bowlers were disciplined in executing their plans and took wickets to stall Kalabagan.

The 4th wicket stand of 100 in 17 overs helped Kalabagan recover and reach a par total, to which their foreign recruit Jatin Saxena contributed handsomely with 96. Mehedi Hasan Miraz made his second fifty of the ongoing DPL after his 51 against Victoria.

Nearly all the bowlers used by Mohammedan skipper gave him breakthroughs. Enamul Haque jnr continued his good form after 4/26 against Gazi Group with 3/46 in 10 overs today. Naeem Islam jnr and Naeem Islam took two wickets each.

At Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Gazi Group Cricketers captain Alok Kapali invited Kalabagan Krira Chakra led by Mashrafe Mortaza to bat first. Kalabagan had a decent start of 46 runs, but Gazi Group managed to take wickets whenever a partnership seemed to prosper and kept Kalabagan down to 223.

For Kalabagan, their Zimbabwean recruit Hamilton Masakadza continued to make his good form count with 40 from 55 today, after his 115 against Cricket CS and 61 against Prime Bank respectively. Tasamul Haque top-scored for his side with 47 runs. Abdur Razzak’s 30 from 18 with three big sixes gave Kalabagan much needed impetus late in their innings.

Gazi Group captain Alok Kapali used seven bowlers, and almost all of them contributed to their team’s cause with wickets at crucial junctures of the game. Alok grabbed his best bowling figures of DPL 2016 with 3 for 36 in 6 overs. Saeed Anwar jnr and Moinul Islam took two wickets each in their quota of 10 overs.
