Bangladesh girls bowl out Malaysia for 29, march into Super Four
Bangladesh women's Under-19 cricket team decimated their Malaysian counterparts, handing them a crushing 120-run defeat in their second Group B match of the U-19 Women's T20 Asia Cup at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur today and have qualified for the Super Four as group champions.
Defending 150, Bangladesh bowlers made quick work of the Malaysian batters, bowling them out for a mere 29 in 14.5 overs.
Off-spinner Nishita Akter Nishi was the pick of the bowlers, claiming five wickets for just three runs in 3.5 overs.
Medium pacer Habiba Islam and leg-spinner Anisa Akter Soba took three and two wickets respectively while going for just five runs each.
None of the Malaysian batters could get into double figures and the highest source of runs for them was the extra's column, which yielded 12.
Earlier, Jannatul Maoua hit a run-a-ball 45 and Sadia Akter hit a quickfire 19-ball 31 not out down the order to help the young Tigresses post 149-5 in their 20 overs after electing to bat first.
Bangladesh had previously beat Sri Lanka by 28 runs in their first match of the three-team Group B yesterday.
The Super Four stage is set to begin on Thursday.
