Mohammad Haris hit a swashbuckling maiden international century to guide Pakistan to a 3-0 clean sweep of Bangladesh with a seven-wicket win in the third and final Twenty20 international in Lahore on Sunday.

Haris, playing in his 17th T20I, carted seven sixes and eight boundaries in his 107 off just 46 balls as Pakistan chased down a challenging 197-run target in 17.2 overs for their first home T20I series win in three-and-a-half years.

Pakistan won the first two matches by 37 and 57 runs at the same venue.

Parvez Hossain smashed four sixes and seven boundaries in his solid 34-ball 66 to lift Bangladesh to 196-6 in their 20 overs.

Pakistan lost Sahibzada Farhan for one in the first over but Haris, whose hundred came up off 45 balls, added 92 for the second wicket with Saim Ayub and an unbroken 60 for the fourth with Salman Agha who made 15 not out.

Ayub hit four sixes and two boundaries in his 29-ball 45 while Hasan Nawaz scored 13-ball 26 as the home batters enthralled a near-capacity 30,000 crowd at Gaddafi Stadium.

Earlier, Parvez shared a 110-run opening stand with Tanzid Hasan (32-ball 42 with three sixes and as many boundaries) after the tourists were sent in to bat.

The Parvez-Tanzid stand gave Bangladesh an ideal start for their highest T20I total against Pakistan beating the 175-6 they made against them at Pallekele in 2012.

Towhid Hridoy, who scored 25 from 18 balls with a six and two boundaries, then added 49 for the third wicket with Litton Das who made 22.

Fast bowlers Abbas Afridi (2-26) and Hasan Ali (2-38) were the pick of the home bowlers.

Pakistan on par with required rate in chase of 197

Pakistan looked well on their way to chasing down Bangladesh's 197-run target, thanks to blistering knocks from top-order batters in the third and final T20I of the three-match series between the sides at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday.

After losing opener Sahibzada Farhan for one in the first over of the innings, Saim Ayub and Mohammad Haris put on a blistering 92-run stand to keep up with the required run-rate. Ayub missed out on a half-century after he got dismissed for a 29-ball 45-run knock in the 10th over, leaving the hosts two down for 104 at the halfway mark. But Haris continued on his merry way, remaining unbeaten on 64 runs off 31 balls, and had Hasan Nawaz not out on 16 runs off eight balls which lifted Pakistan to 127-2 after 12 overs.

Pakistan needed 70 runs to win in the last eight overs

Emon, Tanzid help Tigers to highest T20I total against Pakistan

Openers Parvez Emon and Tanzid Tamim gave the Tigers a rare solid start, helping the Tigers to 196-6, their highest-ever T20I total against Pakistan in the third and final T20I of the three-match series at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday.

The previous best was 175 scored at Pallekelle in the 2012 T20 World Cup.

Both Bangladesh openers succumbed to soft dismissals after providing Bangladesh a flying start. Tanzid, who started slowly, was the first to go, bringing an end to a 110-run opening stand. The left-handed batter scored a 32-ball 42, featuring three fours and as many sixes, but perished while trying to ramp Faheem Ashraf midway into the 11th over.

In the very next over which was bowled by leg-spinner Shadab Khan, Emon threw his wicket away when he skied one while trying to drag a big shot towards the leg side. His 34-ball 66 saw him smash seven fours and four sixes.

Skipper Liton Das and Tawhid Hridoy then put on a 49-run stand to keep up the momentum but both got dismissed rather cheaply after getting set. After managing an 18-ball 22, Liton got castled when he tried to play the ramp off the bowling of pacer Hasan Ali midway into the 17th over. Having scored a modest 18-ball 25, Hridoy picked out the man at deep midwicket an over later.

Jaker Ali scored an unbeaten nine-ball 15 which helped take the score past 190 in the finishing stages of the innings.
