Bangladesh innings in tatters as Zimbabwe on top at Tea

Bangladesh lost five wickets in a disastrous post-lunch session, with Zimbabwean left-arm spinner Wellington Masakadza taking three wickets to leave the hosts stuttering on 154-7 at Tea break on Day 1 of the first Test at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today.
Set batters Mominul Haque and Najmul Hossain Shanto were guilty of throwing away their wickets, while other batters also failed to put up some resistance as Zimbabwe exposed Bangladesh's tail in less than two sessions.
Other than Masakadza, pacer Blessing Muzarabani took the other two wickets to fall in the session.
Jaker Ali is the last recognised batter holding the fort for the Tigers, unbeaten on 10, and pacer Hasan Mahmud is keeping him company on four.
Bangladesh began the session on 84-2, with Shanto and Mominul unbeaten on 30 and 22 respectively.
Shanto was the first to depart, getting caught at point for 40 after playing a loose shot against Muzarabani.
Masakadza then got into his act, first dismissing the experienced Mushfiqur Rahim for four, then Mominul for 56.
Mushfiqur hit a loose ball straight to short mid-wicket while Mominul mishit a slog sweep and got caught inside the circle.
Mehedi Hasan Miraz (one) then couldn't cope with a short delivery from Muzarabani and edged it straight to the keeper.
Taijul Islam (three) also didn't hang around for too long, getting caught behind as Bangladesh went from 123-3 to 146-7.
Jaker and Hasan safely negotiated the remaining overs before the break, but have a tough task ahead of them in the third session.
Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first.
