Misbah appointed camp commandant by PCB

Former Pakistan captain Misbah-Ul-Haq was appointed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as a camp commandant. He will preside over a physically strenuous camp for 17 days aimed at conditioning the country’s A-list cricketers ahead of their demanding cricket season.

According to a PCB media release, the pre-season camp which includes 20 players has been organised with an upcoming eventful year in which most of Pakistan's international matches will be in the five-day format, with one eye on the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, a domestic first-class cricket championship played in Pakistan which begins on September 12. Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to play six World Test Championship Tests, three ODIs and nine T20Is in the forthcoming season.

With PCB not renewing the contract of Mikey Arthur, there were talks about Misbah taking over the head coach role of Pakistan cricket team. However, the 45-year old is yet to complete the coaching badges or acquire the necessary experience the PCB is looking for in the next head coach.
