New Zealand win first bilateral series in Bangladesh since 2008
New Zealand opener Will Young scored a fifty as the Blackcaps won the third and final ODI by seven wickets against Bangladesh by seven wickets at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.
The Blackcaps took the series 2-0 which is their first bilateral series win in Bangladesh since 2008.
Young scored an 80-ball 70 featuring 10 fours and a six as he stitched an 81-run stand with Henry Nicholls, who scored an unbeaten 86-ball 50 to help the visitors to comfortable victory chasing Bangladesh's 171-run target with 91 balls remaining.
Bangladesh pacer Shoriful Islam picked up two wickets, while Nasum Ahmed scalped one.
Earlier, Tigers skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto scored his fifth ODI fifty but his side failed to post a competitive total after opting to bat first.
