Bangladeshi umpire Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid Saikat is set to officiate as an on-field umpire in the fifth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Sydney on Friday. 

Shafuddoula was the third umpire in the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground where his decision to dismiss India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal during Australia's 184-run win over India in the fourth and penultimate Test in Melbourne on Monday caused a lot of stir.

Sharfuddoula overturned the on-field umpire's not-out decision against India opener Jaiswal as he relied on visual evidence, showing a slight deviation after the ball had passed the bat, rather than Snicko -- a system used to determine whether the ball has taken an edge -- to signal out after Australia called for a review.
