Shakib bowls economically but Galle lose against Colombo
Galle Titans all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan bowled economically as he gave away 30 runs from his four overs but Galle eventually lost a tight contest by five wickets against Colombo Strikers in the Lanka Premier League on Monday.
Shakib did not get a chance to bat as Galle posted 189 for three, courtesy of Tim Seifret's unbeaten 35-ball 54 and opener Shevon Daniel's 31-ball 49 after being put into bat first at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium.
In reply, Babar Azam notched up a century, and opener Pathum Nissanka scored a 40-ball 54 to ensure a win for Colombo.
Babar smashed eight fours and five sixes for his 59-ball 104 before he fell to pacer Kasun Rajitha.
Shakib remained wicketless but he took the catch at long-off to send Babar back in the hut.
