Shanto scores 76 but Tigers get bundled out for 171
Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto scored a fifty but the Tigers got bundled out for 171 in their third and final ODI against New Zealand at the Sher-e-Bangla national Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.
Shanto's fifth ODI fifty saw him score an 84-ball 76 laced with 10 fours. He also surpassed the record for scoring the most number of runs for a Bangladesh player on his ODI captaincy debut as he crossed Aminul Islam Bulbul's 70-run knock against India in 1998.
New Zealand fast bowler Adam Milne who is playing in his first match of the series was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped four wickets for 34 runs, while Trent Boult and Cole McConchie picked up two each.
The Blackcaps leads the series 1-0 having won the second ODI by 86 runs after the first math got washed out due to rain.
