Chittagong Kings dominated proceedings with a 96-run win over Sylhet Strikers at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today to ensure a spot in the playoffs with a game left in hand.

Shoriful Islam and Khaled Ahmed tore through the Sylhet Strikers batting lineup as they fell short by a big margin in chase of Chittagong's 196.

The result means that Durbar Rajshahi and Khulna Tigers, who won today's earlier fixture against Rangpur, will vie for the remaining playoff spot..

Shoriful picked up career-best T20 figures of four wickets for five runs and effected the last run-out of Sumon Khan to bundle Sylhet out for 100 runs. Khaled Ahmed also picked up four for 31 as the Chittagong pace duo accounted for eight of the 10 wickets to fall.

There was no notable scorers from Sylhet with Zakir Hasan scoring 19 off 12 and Jaker Ali Anik managing 17.

Despite losing early wickets of Parvez Hossain Emon and Graham Clarke, both picked up by Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Chittagong banked on Khawaza Nafay's explosive 30-ball 52 to score 56 runs in the Powerplay.

Skipper Mohammad Mithun would also hit a 38-ball 52 to keep the run-rate close to 10. After both Nafay and Mithun departed, Shamim Hossain took charge with a 23-ball 38 while Khaled Ahmed added a crucial 25 off 13 at the death which saw Chittagong post 196 for 8.
