Debutant Tanzim Sakib and Taijul Islam struck once each as Bangladesh reduced Zimbabwe to 89-2 at Lunch on Day 1 of the second and final Test at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram today.

Tanzim dismissed opener Brian Bennet on 21 to end a 41-run opening stand, getting him caught behind, while Taijul bowled the other opener Ben Curran on 21.

Nick Welch and the experienced Sean Williams, unbeaten on 32 and six respectively, will resume the proceedings after the break.

Earlier, Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat first.

Bangladesh are trailing 1-0 in the series.
