Liton's 136, Mushy's 86 see Tigers post highest-ever total against Afghanistan
Bangladesh reached 306 for four in the second ODI, courtesy of crafty knocks from Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim. The Tigers will be disappointed with how they ended the innings. At 45-over mark, the Tigers had two set batters in Liton and the score was 272 for four. But they ended with just 34 runs in the last five overs. Fareed's back-to-back strike to remove both Liton and Mushfiqur saw Afif Hossain (13 off 12) and Mahmudullah Riyad (6 off 9) come on but the latter was unable to finish with a flurry, unable to middle anything at the death end of the innings. Despite that, Bangladesh posted their highest total against Afghanistan, the previous best was 279/8 at Mirpur in 2016. Liton's strokeplay was getting more crafty by the end before he perished to Fareed. Mushfiqur would be disappointed to miss out on a ton. Afghanistan need 307 to win the second ODI to make anything out of the series.

It's drinks at the grounds at 12:13 PM local time as the slow over-rate continues. Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to bat in the second ODI at Chattogram's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium today.
Bangladesh have named an unchanged eleven today. They lead the series 1-0 courtesy of a four-wicket win in the first ODI. It will be interesting to see whether it's a good toss to lose for Afghanistan. There were some seam movement on offer for Farooqi in that first ODI that led to Bangladesh's top-order collapse before Afif Hossain and Mehedi Hasan Miraz's record-breaking stand led Bangladesh to victory.
"Firstly, Chittagong is generally a good pitch. The ball didn't seam much. There wasn't seam movement. You need to bowl quite straight. One or two balls stayed down. Lbws and bowleds come into it. As a batter, you have to hit the ball as straight as possible," Bangladesh coach Russell Domingo had said during yesterday's press conference.
A few changes in the Afghanistan eleven. Ibrahim Zadran, Gulbadin Naib and Yamin Ahmadzai did not make the squad. Riaz Hasan, Farid Ahmad and Azmatullah Omarzai come in.
Bangladesh Playing XI: 1 Litton Das, 2 Tamim Iqbal (c), 3 Shakib Al Hasan, 4 Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), 5 Yasir Ali, 6 Mahmudullah, 7 Afif Hossain, 8 Mehidy Hasan Miraz, 9 Shoriful Islam, 10 Taskin Ahmed, 11 Mustafizur Rahman
