Bangladesh lost three wickets within the first nine overs of the innings while chasing Afghanistan 331 in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

Tigers skipper Liton Das was the first to go when he miscued a pull shot as he fell off a short delivery by Afghanistan pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi, while Najmul Hossain Shanto was castled by Mujeeb Ur Rahman before Mohammad Naim chopped one onto the stumps of Farooqi.

Bangladesh managed 26 runs for the loss of two wickets after the completion of the first nine overs.

Liton hit three boundaries for his 15-ball 13 before he tried to take Farooqi over the leg-side in the fifth over. But the right-handed batter could only top-edge it straight to short mid-wicket as the Tigers were at 17 runs for the loss of one wicket after the completion of the fifth over.

The following over, Shanto failed to get a read on Mujeeb Ur Rahman's off-break as he was castled for a 15-ball six.

Meanwhile, Naim struggled to go out of his shell and was put out of his misery in the ninth over when he played onto the stumps a delivery that was close to his body.

Earlier, Afghanistan posted 331 for nine after being put into bat first.
