Tigresses face Ireland in final

Both Bangladesh and Ireland, who have already sealed their places in the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup, will lock horns in the final of the qualifiers at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

Bangladesh beat Thailand by 11 runs while Ireland ensured a four-run victory against Zimbabwe in their respective semifinals to eventually qualify for the main round of the World Cup.

Bangladesh and Ireland will join eight top-ranked automatic qualifiers for the Women's T20 World Cup, which will be held from February 9 to 26 next year in South Africa.

Nigar Sultana Joty and her troops remained unbeaten and played clinical cricket throughout the qualifiers. Joty, who led from the front, has been in fine touch with the bat and is the top run-getter in the tournament so far with 174 runs at a strike rate of 108. 75 in four games. She also notched two fifties.

Opener Murshida Khatun is also among the top four run-getters in the qualifiers with 134 runs.

Off-spinner Salma Khatun picked up eight wickets in four games and is just a wicket behind the top wicket-taker Vicky Araa of Papua New Guinea.
