Shakib opening captain for Mashrafe’s ban
Shakib Al Hasan will lead Bangladesh in the first ODI cricket match against Pakistan in the home series because of a ban placed on Mashrafe Mortaza in the World Cup.
Other than that, Mashrafe will lead the team in the rest of the two ODI matches and the lone Twenty20 match. Mushfiqur Rahim will captain Bangladesh in the test series.
International Cricket Council (ICC) banned Mashrafe for one match due to slow over rate in the World Cup 2015 quarterfinal match against India on March 19, Thursday.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has come to a settlement with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding the amount of money to be paid as compensation for not having toured Pakistan back in 2012.
BCB will pay 3 lakh 25 thousand US dollars to PCB as the compensation, BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon told the media, adding that “this is the final settlement”.
Pakistan earlier demanded 9 lakh US dollars as the compensation.
