While the rest of the Pakistan squad landed in the UK for Tests against England and Ireland, the team’s pace spearhead Mohammad Amir did not travel with the team due visa issues but PCB confirms that the visa issues have been resolved and the speedster was granted visa by the UK.

“Amir could not travel with the team,” Pakistan Cricket Board spokesman Amjad Bhatti confirmed to The Associated Press.

“There’s some procedural issue which I hope will be resolved by Wednesday,” he added.

Amir is married to a British Citizen and his son was also born in the UK. The speedstar was handed a six-month jail term and was also banned for five years by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for spot-fixing in the 2010 Lord’s Test. This is not the first time that the pacer had faced visa issues as during Pakistan’s last tour of England, Amir faced a similar issue.

Pakistan will play against Test debutants Ireland in a historic Test on May 11.
