Bangladesh under-19 team ended with a 1-1 draw against Bhutan in their second group match of the AFC U-19 Championship Qualifiers at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka today.

The hosts began the game with the hope of a win by a big margin, which could have been crucial to Bangladesh's cause as they are targeting one of the five best runners-up spots available for qualification for the 16-team final round.

However, Bhutan took an early lead with their defender Sonam Tobgay scoring in the 6th minute of the game. The visitors were on top until Bangladesh finally scored the equalizer in the 75th minute with Ibrahim’s free-kick in the box headed into the far post by skipper Masuk Mia Zoni.

Bangladesh will be playing their next group league match against Uzbekistan on October 6 at the same venue.

The hosts began their campaign with a 2-0 victory against Sri Lanka on Friday.

Bangladesh had beaten Bhutan 2-0 in their last meeting in the SAFF U-19 Championship in Nepal this August.
