Bangladesh girls clinch SAFF U-15 Women's Championship
Bangladesh won the title of the inaugural edition of SAFF Under-15 Women's Championship with a solitary goal victory against India today.
Bangladesh were earlier leading India 1-0 at the end of the first half of SAFF U-15 Women's Championship final today.
Winger Shamsunnahar's 41st minute strike proved decisive in the final at the Birshreshtha Mostafa Kamal Stadium, with around five thousand spectators enjoying the match.
The hosts, who beat the same opposition 3-0 in a league stage match, wasted a number of opportunities while India had pulled their game a few notches up from that defeat.
The goal came in the 41st minute of the game as Anuching Marma's shot was parried away by the India goalkeeper before Shamsunnahar put the ball into the net. This is the first South Asian title for Bangladesh in women's football.
