Ctg Abahani clinch Sheikh Kamal Int’l Club Cup title

The MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong turned blue after Chittagong Abahani clinched the title of the inaugural Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup in the pulsating grand finale beating Kolkata giants East Bengal 3-1 this evening.

The hosts, who were beaten by the same opponents in the first day of the tournament, had to dig deep after going a goal down in the tenth minute of the match. However, Abahani’s Nigerian forward Eleta Kingsley scored twice and Hemanta Vincent Biswas added a third as the port city side romped to a deserved victory in front of more than 30 thousand home fans.

Kingsley took the awards for the man of the final, most valuable player as well as the top scorer (5 goals) in the tournament.
