Maradona’s wild night in Naples
Diego Maradona received honorary citizenship from his beloved Naples where he once donned the No.10 jersey for Serie A team Napoli.
Yesterday, he attended a ceremony at the city where he made 250 appearances for Napoli and played for period of seven years.
Maradona, who is not one to shy away from controversy, enjoyed a wild night at Naples, possibly fuelled by quite a bit of alcohol consumption.
He was seen trying to cut a cake while at a party, the Argentine had seemed to be having trouble in completing the task.

An excited crowd had gathered outside to see the legend enjoying the occasion. They must not have been disappointed when Maradona came out and climbed up on top of a Taxi, chanting the words ‘Whoever’s not cheering is a Juventus fan!’ to his loyal subjects.

Maradona had earlier joked in the evening that if Lorenzo Insigne, who has scored 49 goals for Napoli so far, can take his retired No.10 shirt if Insigne beats his goal tally of 115.
"If he scores more goals than me, then he can wear it!" Maradona told reporters. "I hope this can be the right season for the Scudetto, as Napoli have the right experience now not to drop the points where they did last time.
"If they hadn't done that, we'd have been champions already. I think this is the right moment for Maurizio Sarri, Pepe Reina, Insigne, Dries Mertens and all the others. They can prove that Napoli can win the Scudetto."
